A magnificent vintage natural amber necklace featuring a beautifully graduated arrangement of substantial oval beads in rich cognac, burnt orange and deep reddish-brown tones.
The necklace measures an impressive 33 inches in length and weighs approximately 68 grams, giving it wonderful presence while retaining amber’s characteristic light and comfortable feel. The beads graduate from approximately 12mm to a commanding 30mm central bead, creating an elegant, balanced silhouette.
Each bead displays its own individual colouring, internal flow patterns and organic variations. The principal bead reveals particularly beautiful natural structure when illuminated. Its warm red-cognac surface has developed fine crazing and oxidation over time, contributing to the necklace’s unmistakably vintage character.
The beads have been carefully restrung and individually hand-knotted for security. The original ribbed barrel clasp has been polished and thoughtfully reused, preserving an important element of the necklace’s history.
A remarkable statement necklace for the collector or amber enthusiast, combining substantial size, rich natural colour and genuine vintage character.
